Tailbone pain (coccydynia)

Patients who suffer pain in the coccygeal region are generally unable to sit on hard surfaces comfortably or for very long. This condition tends to occur following inflammation of the periosteum, injuries, impacts and after difficult births. Less common causes are inflammation of the bone itself or constipation. Often, the cause remains unknown.

Among the possible treatments for tailbone pain are conservative therapies as well as infiltrations and denervation procedures.
