Spine Symptoms / Disorders
Back pain represents more than two-thirds of all pain and has become a veritable common disease. Many different causes could be taken in consideration: For example, the symptoms in some patients are due to individual signs of wear, incorrect posture, and hereditary dispositions or as a result of lack of exercise. Psychological problems may also be triggers.
Often pain can be assigned to a specific area of the cervical, thoracic or lumbar spine. In some cases this is accompanied by pain that radiates to the legs, arms, chest or neck and which in turn can cause muscle tension, cramps and movement restrictions. Sometimes patients suffer also from tingling, numbness, weakness, muscle atrophy, sleep disturbances, irritability, depression, bladder disorders and - although rare - even sexual disorders.
Some patients become over years different treatments without determining the exact reason through precise diagnostic. In turn, multiple and rapid operations promote the development of adhesions and instability creating additional pain.
For this reason, even before discussing the different therapeutic possibilities, we conduct in-depth discussions with our patients. We analyze the symptoms, if necessary, also from an interdisciplinary perspective that can allow us to make an accurate diagnosis.
On the following pages we provide you with a first overview of possible back-related diseases and their treatment options.
