MRI Angiography
MRI angiography makes blood vessels visible. This is allowed by the so-called contrast agents that are injected into the arteries. The image is displayed using imaging techniques such as X-Rays, MRI or CT.
Making blood vessels visible
In the area of the brain, this diagnostic method is used, for example, in the surgical treatment of aneurysms, angiomas and tumours. In fact, angiography shows the location of the neighbouring cerebral vessels, but also the blood supply to the tumour, which is usually via the meningeal arteries.
Angiography thus enables a precise procedure in microsurgical interventions such as craniotomy and minimizes the risk of injury to healthy vessels.
